Speaks Japanese (English/Japanese) Officiant

Q: What experience from other jobs or projects that will be an asset in this work?

In the 1990’s I started working in the hospitality industry in Australia organizing weddings & events in 5 star hotels, and then in the 2000’s I worked weddings in different capacities in Japan. I have always loved the pure joy and excitement that couples and their families have when they combine their energies and take the leap into a future together.

Q: What strengths or skills do you bring to this work?

I love helping people and I want to share my joy for life and love with couples embarking on their new journey together. I am a people pleaser, I have an eye for detail and a wry Australian sense of humour. I just want to make people happy, feel comfortable, and welcomed.

Q: What do you enjoy most about this work?

The love that people have for each other is so inspiring and beautiful to witness; a new bond, a new journey, and beautiful memories yet to be made is so exciting! In Australia we call Officiants “Celebrants” because getting married to the love of our life is a celebration, and I want to help people celebrate one of the most beautiful days in their life. What could be better than that?

Q: What characteristics do you see in couples that encourage you?

The excitement and nervous energy in the lead up to saying “I do”, makes doing what a celebrant does not a job, but an absolute pleasure!

Q: What personal experiences do you draw on when working with couples?

I have lived around the world and been involved in so many beautiful ceremonies and receptions. The culmination of all of that hope for the future makes me want keep doing it. Helping people connect and move forward together is such an extraordinary honor that I certainly don’t take for granted. I love what I do, and I want to share that with others.
