Q: What do you enjoy most about this work?

What is there not to enjoy?! For me, it is the moment where the couple comes together after experiencing love and trust, and they are ready for this big commitment. It is an honor to be the person in front of them when they seal this love with an “I do”! Gives me goosebumps and fills my heart with love.

Q: ¿Qué crees que disfrutarás más de este trabajo?
¿¡Hay algo que no se disfrute!? Para mí es el momento en el que la pareja se une luego de experimentar el amor, la confianza y están listos para este gran compromiso. Es un honor ser la persona frente a ellos cuando sellan este amor con un “sí, quiero”, me pone la piel de gallina y me llena el corazón de amor.

Q: What characteristics do you see in couples that encourage and inspire you?
I love to see how they care for each other, how they consider their partner’s opinion. I like to know a little bit about their relationship before the ceremony to understand what took them to this important moment and how those experiences make their wedding day more special. And even after hard situations, love always wins. That is inspiring.

Q: ¿Qué características ves en las parejas que te animan e inspiran?
Me encanta ver cómo se preocupan el uno por el otro, cómo consideran la opinión de su pareja. Me gusta saber un poco sobre su relación antes de la ceremonia para entender qué los llevó a este momento tan importante y cómo esas experiencias hacen que el día de su boda sea más especial. E incluso después de situaciones difíciles, el amor siempre gana, eso es inspirador.

Q: What experiences do you draw on when working with couples?
Appreciation is one of my qualities; as I appreciate being able to do this wonderful job I am always learning from the couples. Reminding me that we are all different and that a perfect day might look different from others’ perspectives.

Q: What do you think are some of the most important qualities in a wedding officiant that couples appreciate on their wedding day?
Details, making sure everything is covered, guiding the couple to make this moment perfect. Pointing to those little details that might make a difference in their special day. Also, respect, honoring their wishes, and honoring who they are.
